JBZ Automotive History
JBZ Automotive (PTY) LTD was built from real workshop floor experience, long before it became a registered company. What started as a small mobile operation with minimal tools has grown into a structured, multi-division fleet and hydraulic maintenance partner for forklifts, trucks, bakkies, industrial and agricultural equipment.
Early Mechanical Roots
From a young age, Zandre grew up inside workshops – rebuilding parts, assisting senior mechanics and learning fault-finding on real customer vehicles. This included brakes, clutches, drivetrains, basic hydraulics, and understanding how to speak honestly with clients about repairs and safety.
Formal Training & Qualifications
He later qualified as a Red Seal Motor Mechanic through Nissan & Renault, progressing from apprentice to service advisor and then into a foreman role over multiple technicians. During this time he gained deep dealership-level exposure to diagnostics, OEM procedures, health & safety, welding, hydraulics and electrical fault-finding.
Career Before JBZ
Before starting JBZ Automotive, Zandre spent years working on petrol, diesel and heavy-duty machinery – from passenger vehicles to trucks, forklifts and industrial equipment. He was responsible for technical reporting, quoting, quality control, and full engine and gearbox rebuilds.
Starting JBZ Automotive
JBZ began as a mobile-only service focused on breakdowns, diagnostics and mechanical repairs. With limited equipment but strong technical skill, the business earned trust by being reliable, transparent and solution-driven – especially for fleets that cannot afford unnecessary downtime.
Growing into a Multi-Discipline Team
As demand grew, JBZ developed into a multi-discipline operation with support on diesel, hydraulics, forklifts, refrigeration/AC, electrical, administration and accounting. This allowed the company to handle complex jobs – from hydraulic cylinder strip & assess to diesel overhauls and fleet maintenance programs – under one coordinated structure.
